Thoughts

money_in_hand1.gifThe internet is full of make money online blogs. I’m one of the 398 blogs listed in Entrecards make money online category. I don’t know why I put myself in that category because I’m not an MMO blog. Take a look at blogcatalog and other similar sites, make money online is everywhere on those too. Make money online has got so big, people write about it even though they know nothing about it. So, what is it about MMO blogging that everyone loves?

Maybe people feel that in order for them to run a profitable blog, they need to blog about money? I guess that is an easy trap to fall in to. When you first start out and know very little about blogging, you wouldn’t think that it’s possible to make money by lets say, writing about trees? But it is. Kenstrees.com (no this isn’t a paid plug) makes money, probably more money than this blog generates. It’s obvious why Kenstrees.com will be successful, there’s little or no competition. For money bloggers or blogging about blogs bloggers it’s a completely different story. They’re competing with so many other blogs for the same news storys, the same tips, and the same reviews. To get anywhere in that niche you need to be patient, consistent, very dedicated and as bloggernoob puts it, ”Kiss Ass”.

Another thing I’ve noticed about the make money online area is this. Have you ever visited a blog where it actually tells you how to make money online? I see lots of affiliate site reviews, and lots of half explained ideas, but you never see a MMO blog actually showing you how to do it. Go to this site, do that, do this, buy this. You catch my drift? So why do people keep going back?

To me MMO is a niche where people gather to show off. The big dogs show off their big pay outs, their monthly traffic reports, their rss counts and boast about their lifestyle. All very nice. But to be honest, I don’t really care! I want to read about how you’re making money and building your traffic. I find the best way to find things you really want to read about is by looking for and reading blogs that are relatively unheard of. These guys put more effort in to their posts, they give you the information you need and are always ready to help you.

I don’t really know what the point to this post is. Am I jealous of other blogs? Certainly not. Am I getting fed up of blogging? Hell no! I guess the more and more I learn about blogging, the more and more I find things that, ummmm, annoy me?

It’s very hard to find anyone willing to give away their make money secrets. Look at ebooks, people only release the ideas in them after they’ve become pretty much useless.

You have to keep trying and trying if you want to get anywhere these days.
