I haven’t updated my blog, replied to comments or checked my emails for nearly 5 days now. As much as I would have liked to have posted over the easter weekend, it just hasn’t been possible because of other things going on in my life. If I’m totally honest with myself though, I’ve quite enjoyed the break. Not having to worry about posting daily, dropping EntreCards, looking for free advertising and keeping myself active on other blogs has done me a world of good. I feel refreshed and I’ve come up with some new ideas to help progress this place. I guess your mind doesn’t totally leave you blog.
I’m always reading about how ignoring your blog is bad for business, you should never do it. But for me, the 5 days away from blogging hasn’t seemed to have harmed funk13 in the slightest. My traffic hasn’t dropped at all, the last 5 days I’ve kept my 100-200 unique visits a day average. Actually, on the 24th I received a record 423 unique visits to my blog. I wonder what happened on that day? People have still been leaving comments, buying my EntreCard widget spots, dropping their cards, inquiring about advertising and I’ve even received a few emails. Like I said, no harm done.
If you’re getting fed up of blogging, maybe taking a break for a few days might do you some good?
